What You'll Know

Clear answers to the questions that run your firm.

A&E BI does the number-crunching for you — turning the time entries, project phases, and pipeline data you already have into answers you can act on.

Staff for the work ahead

Pipeline-weighted capacity shows the team you'll need for the projects you expect to win — not just the ones already signed.

Keep every fee healthy

Track earned fee against labor burn, phase by phase, so you can steer a project while there's still room to steer.

Focus your pursuits

Run simulations on your data to explore if you can increase your fees or when a big expense will pay off.

What A&E BI Does

Every tool built for A&E firms

Every metric, every view, and every alert is grounded in how architecture and engineering firms are structured, staffed, and billed.

Pipeline Intelligence

See your realistic backlog — opportunities weighted by your own probability estimates, not contract value alone. Know which projects are likely to start when, and whether you have the team to absorb them.

Capacity Heatmap

See who's available, who's overcommitted, and who's at risk of burnout. The pipeline-weighted overlay shows capacity reality including work you expect to win — not just signed contracts.

Staffing Proposals

When a project is awarded — or a pursuit planned — A&E BI proposes a team based on your firm's own staffing templates, flags discipline gaps, and alerts you to fee-coverage issues before you commit.

Fee Health Tracking

Earned fee percentage versus labor burn rate, phase by phase — so you can spot a project trending past its fee while there's still room to adjust the plan.

Anomaly Detection

We learn what "normal" looks like for your firm — not industry averages. When a project burns hours 50% faster than its budget, or an invoice ages past your threshold, we flag it. You decide whether to act.

AI-Assisted Onboarding

Extract data from contracts and documents you upload. Ask natural-language questions about your project data. Get to your first actionable insight without a six-week implementation engagement.

Why We Built A&E BI

A note from our founder

I've spent my career in small and mid-size architecture firms, and I've seen how many others operate too. Staffing a project, planning the work, and setting the right fee on a proposal are some of the most important decisions a firm makes — and too often they come down to current workload, what we did last time, or what simply feels right.

I've also worked inside a large corporation, where I saw firsthand how business intelligence turns data into sharper decisions and better outcomes. Every firm can benefit from crunching its numbers — but small and mid-size A&E firms rarely have the time, and the enterprise systems built for it are costly and slow to set up.

We built A&E BI to close that gap: to streamline your data, crunch the numbers, and present what they mean — so you can make better-informed decisions about your firm.

Built Around Your Firm

Great design is the mission. A thriving firm is what makes it possible.

See the business behind the design

Fee burn, in view. When a project spends most of its labor early in the fee, you see it as it happens — in time to manage it.
What it takes to win work. A&E BI tracks pursuit hours against win rates, so you can put your business-development energy where it consistently pays off.
Utilization by role. See when senior people are carrying production work, so you can deploy your most valuable expertise where it earns the most.

Relationships drive the work — data helps you manage it

Pipeline you can plan around. Assign your own probability weights to opportunities and see a realistic backlog you can staff against.
Capacity by name. The heatmap shows who's genuinely available, so the people clients rely on most stay at a sustainable load.
Hunches, confirmed. If your firm tends to win a certain kind of work, the data shows it — turning instinct into a strategy you can pursue on purpose.

Strong firms have the most to build on

What your work earns. A&E BI shows your revenue against direct labor cost in plain terms, so you always know where the firm stands.
Billed vs. collected. Seeing the gap between what you bill and what you collect turns a quiet, fixable shortfall into money your firm keeps.
Healthy utilization. 75% capacity is strong — the heatmap shows whether it comes from balanced assignments, so the pace stays sustainable.
Where We Fit

Right between spreadsheets and enterprise software

Most A&E firms reach a point where spreadsheets can't keep up — but a full enterprise platform is more system, cost, and setup than the firm needs. That in-between space is exactly what A&E BI is built for.

You don't need to hire a data engineer or bring in consultants for months. A&E BI is a decision-support layer: it reads the operational data your firm already generates and turns it into A&E-specific metrics, capacity planning, and pipeline intelligence — starting with your first dashboard, not your tenth week.

The landscape for A&E analytics
Enterprise A&E platforms (Deltek, Unanet, BQE CORE)
Strong A&E-specific metrics and analytics — but priced and scoped for large firms. Implementation typically requires consultants and months of project time. Per-seat costs often exceed $60–80/user/month.
General-purpose BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
Powerful and flexible — but blank-slate. You must build and maintain your own A&E data model. Tableau licensing alone runs $75+/creator/month before any custom development. No out-of-the-box A&E metrics.
Project management tools (Newforma, Procore, others)
Strong on document control and task tracking — not designed to answer questions about utilization, multiplier, realization, or pipeline-weighted capacity. Different job, different tool.
A&E BI — purpose-built for firms like yours
A&E-specific metrics, capacity planning, pipeline intelligence, and anomaly detection — purpose-built for 10–100 person firms, with AI-assisted onboarding so you reach your first dashboard in days, not months. No consultant required.
Who It's For

Right-sized for the firms building great work

Designed for this

Small to mid-size A&E firms (10–100 people) who:

Have outgrown spreadsheets but don't need enterprise-scale complexity
Want to understand their business better without hiring a full-time CFO
Track time entries and want to turn them into insight
Want to understand how efficiently the team is working and whether projects are profitable — without building custom reports
Want AI tools that reduce onboarding friction, not add to it
Fits right in

Designed to work with the tools you already use

Connects to your existing time-tracking and project data — no migration required
Sits alongside your accounting software, not in place of it
Up and running in days — no dedicated IT team or long implementation project
Built for principals and PMs, not data analysts — no training required

A&E BI is a decision-support layer, not a replacement for your accountant, your project management software, or your expertise. It sits alongside your existing tools and turns the data you're already generating into answers you can act on.

How It Works

From signup to first insight in days, not months

We know onboarding friction is why most business software fails at adoption. A&E BI is built to get you to value fast.

Connect Your Data

Import from your existing time-tracking, project, and pipeline tools — or use our AI-assisted import to extract data from documents and spreadsheets you already have.

See Your Baseline

Your key metrics are computed immediately — team capacity, project fee health, pipeline, collection speed, and more. Plain-English explanations, not black boxes.

Plan With Confidence

Use capacity heatmaps and pipeline-weighted backlog to staff upcoming projects, evaluate pursuits, and catch fee-burn issues before they become expensive.

Act on Anomalies

A&E BI learns your firm's normal patterns and alerts you when something looks off — so you're not reviewing every dashboard every day to stay informed.

Pricing

Simple, transparent pricing

One plan with everything included — no tiers to decode, no per-report fees, and no consultant invoice to open the box.
